Pack 353 will be camping at Alpine Scout Camp in Alpine, New Jersey, September 25, 26, and 27.
Alpine Scout Camp is approximately 45 min. from Eastchester. You can check out their website at
www.alpinescoutcamp.org
We have reserved the "Delaware" campsite, which is approximately a 5-min. walk to bathrooms with running water, and a 10 min. walk to the activity center, which houses the indoor rock-climbing wall, basketball courts, ping pong and fooseball tables. There is a small cabin on the campsite with electricity. We normally use this space as a "home base" for equipment, food, and first aid.
The pack will be supplying:
Dinner Friday night, breakfast/ lunch/dinner on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. We always have fruit, cookies, and other snacks available. We try to have kid-friendly food as well as adult- friendly food.
We always bring bottles of water, but we can never carry enough, so please be sure to bring water for yourself. There is potable water available on the campgrounds, but bring water anyway.
We have arranged for the pack to participate in the rock-climbing wall, B B gun range, and archery range on Saturday. In the "Cub World" portion of the camp there are climb-upons ( a "ship" and a "castle").
We will have a campfire on Saturday night, so be sure to dig up some old ghost stories and songs!
We will be retiring American flags on Saturday night, and retrieving grommits from the flags for the boys as "good luck charms" on Sunday morning. If anyone has flags that need proper retiring, please be sure to bring them.
Reservations must be received by 5:00 PM September 21. This is a DROP DEAD cut off. We must order supplies, and need to know how many we are buying for. If the weather calls for lightning, then we will cancel, and all checks will be destroyed.
Cost is $30.00 per person, and must be received by 5:00 PM September 21. Please be sure to write your phone number on the check along with your den number. You can come for the day or the weekend, the price is the same. Checks should be mailed to:
